Our Greenhouses
Be
sure to visit the greenhouses at Parkview Gardens. We are always adding
new colors and varieties to the plants we
grow, so come see what's growing today.
Here we show our main greenhouse loaded with a multitude of spring bedding plants.
"The Big House", our newest greenhouse, holds an assortment of shady perennials and annuals.
About every 3 years our greenhouses need new poly tops put on. We rotate our greenhouses so they all don't have to be done at once. It's a fun job if you like heights!
Watering during the spring is a full-time job. We strive to keep our plants in the best conditions to help guarantee your success when planting at home.
Our "hidden
greenhouse" is deceptive to the eye. Varieties such as dianthus,
snapdragons and petunias are put outside early to acclimate them
to our cool springs. Chance of frost? The black mat you see underneath
the plants is heated and we cover the tops with cloth to create a
temporary greenhouse to prevent frost damage.
